Do I have to tag my dogs?
Yes, all dogs, inside or outside, living within the City limits must possess a current City dog tag. City dog tags are $5 per dog, with proof of current rabies vaccination, and must be renewed each year by April 30th.
The City partners with Winfield Vet Hospital to hold a dog clinic on the 1st Saturday in April each year where you can get your dog's vaccines and City dog tags at the same time right here in Burden located in the City Shop.
We have a registration process for ALL breeds of Pitbull and mixed breeds with Pitbull in them which must be completed before a $50 City dog tag will be issued.
If you have more than 4 dogs you must obtain an annual $50 kennel license, along with your City dog tags.
Service Dogs are still required to have a current city dog tag and current rabies vaccine, same as all other dogs in town.
