The community storm shelter is across from the basketball court at the City Park, located at 329 N. Maple, and is open to the public during bad weather.

UTILITY BILLS
The City of Burden provides water, sewer, and trash services. Utility bills are sent out the 1st day of each month and are due on or before the 15th, after the 15th a 10% late fee is applied to the bill.
Shut off day is at NOON on the 22nd of every month. When the 22nd falls on a Friday, weekend, or the day before a legal holiday, water service will be disconnected at NOON the next regular working day. If not paid in full by NOON service will be disconnected for non-payment and require the bill to be paid in full plus a $20.00 reconnect fee. Please call the office if you need to make a payment arrangement.

TRASH SERVICE
CITY TRASH WILL BE PICKED UP EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. Trash carts should be set out by 6 am or the night before to ensure pickup.
DOG TAGS & OTHER ANIMAL LAWS
All dogs, inside or outside, living within the City limits must possess a current City dog tag. City dog tags are $5 per dog, with proof of current rabies vaccination, and must be renewed each year by April 30th. The City has lifted its ban on Staffordshire terriers dogs, allowing them with a registration process for ALL breeds of Pitbull and mixed breeds with Pitbull in them which must be completed before a $50 City dog tag will be issued. If you have more than 4 dogs you must obtain an annual $50 kennel license, along with your City dog tags. Service Dogs are still required to have a current city dog tag and current rabies vaccine, same as all other dogs in town.
Most livestock is not allowed in the City limits. Chickens are allowed, but not roosters.
